Should I use the same Picato® gel to treat the AK on my face as I would to treat the AK on other parts of my body?
No. Picato® comes in 2 strengths. For AK on the face or scalp, Picato® gel, 0.015% is applied for 3 consecutive days. For AK on the body, arms, or legs, Picato® gel, 0.05% is applied for 2 consecutive days. Always follow your healthcare provider’s direction.*

Will there be skin reactions? When should they resolve?
Discuss any concerns about adverse events with your healthcare provider.
Skin reactions occur in most patients after the first dose. Skin reactions typically peak within the first week and resolve within 2 weeks for the face and scalp, and within 4 weeks for the body, arms, and legs.

How should I store my Picato® gel?
Picato® must always be refrigerated. Store Picato® at temperatures between 36°F to 46°F (2°C to 8°C). Do not freeze. Do not leave Picato® on a kitchen counter, in a car, or in any other area where the temperature could rise above 46°F. This could reduce its effectiveness.
When should I schedule a follow-up appointment with my dermatologist?
Be sure to discuss with your healthcare provider when a follow-up appointment is most appropriate for you. In studies with Picato®, results were measured at Week 8 (Day 57). In the case of an adverse event, do not wait for a follow-up appointment; call your healthcare provider right away.
When applying Picato®, what areas should avoid contact with the gel?
Your healthcare provider will tell you where to apply Picato®. Do not apply Picato® to areas other than where your healthcare provider has indicated.
Picato® should not come in contact with your eyes, the area surrounding your eyes, your mouth, or your genitals.

Is there a certain time of day that I should apply Picato®?
Unless instructed otherwise, apply Picato® at least 2 hours before sleeping. Do not apply the gel right after you’ve taken a shower. Avoid touching the treatment area or doing activities that cause a lot of sweating for 6 hours after applying Picato® gel. After 6 hours, you may wash the treatment area with mild soap and water.
Does Picato® expire? How should I dispose of my Picato® gel tube?
Your Picato® gel has an expiration date. The expiration date (exp.) is marked at the end of the tube. Do not use the gel after this date. You may throw away Picato® gel used tubes in your household trash.
